Singapore Airlines (SIA) is enhancing its in-flight entertainment experience with next-generation KrisWorld and high-speed connectivity, offering passengers greater choice, control and flexibility during their journeys. The upgraded system will feature advanced display technology, improved audio, personalisation tools and an expanded range of entertainment options, alongside connectivity designed to support streaming, communication and work onboard.
The new KrisWorld will include 4K high-resolution touchscreen displays, with OLED screens available on selected aircraft and cabin classes. Other features include spatial audio, active noise-cancellation headphones, Bluetooth pairing for personal headphones, a redesigned user interface and a new wellness planner. Passengers will also have access to more than 2,500 entertainment options, spanning films, television shows, music and other content.
The upgraded system aims to provide sharper visuals and richer, more immersive sound while making it easier for passengers to discover and enjoy content. Personalisation features and a redesigned interface will give travellers greater control over their entertainment experience and help them move between viewing, listening and other onboard activities.
Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines, said the enhancements were developed in response to customer feedback seeking more choice and flexibility during flights. He added that the next-generation KrisWorld and connectivity offering would make it easier for passengers to enjoy entertainment, stay connected with loved ones and transition between different activities throughout their journey.
Singapore Airlines will progressively introduce the upgraded KrisWorld on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft entering service from 2027. The system will also be available on the airline’s upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft. Features will vary depending on the aircraft and cabin class.
High-speed connectivity will complement the entertainment system on Starlink-enabled aircraft, allowing passengers to stream content, use social media, play games, work and communicate during flights. Starlink connectivity is scheduled to be introduced progressively from early 2027 on SIA’s Airbus A380, A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft. The upgrades form part of the airline’s broader investment in its end-to-end travel experience, alongside next-generation long-haul cabins, refreshed dining, new amenities across cabin classes and enhanced ground services.
