Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts has secured the Occupancy Certificate (OC) from the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) for its upcoming 256-key Taj Yelahanka in North Bengaluru, clearing a key regulatory milestone ahead of the hotel’s planned commercial launch in September 2026.
Spread across a three-acre site in the fast-growing Yelahanka micro-market, the luxury property is in the advanced stages of completion. The company is currently obtaining the remaining statutory licences and operational approvals required before opening.
Designed to cater to Bengaluru’s expanding corporate travel, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) and leisure segments, the hotel is expected to strengthen premium hospitality supply along the city’s northern growth corridor.
Commenting on the development, Krishna Bhupal, Joint Managing Director, Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts Ltd, said the receipt of the Occupancy Certificate marks a significant milestone, with the company now focused on securing ancillary approvals to meet its September operational timeline.
Beyond the initial development, Taj GVK also owns an adjoining four-acre land parcel earmarked for a potential Phase II expansion. The proposed extension is expected to further enhance the project’s positioning as a landmark hospitality destination in the Yelahanka market.
The addition of the 256-room hotel will expand Taj GVK’s premium portfolio, which includes properties across Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Mumbai and other key Indian cities, while reinforcing confidence in North Bengaluru’s emergence as a major hospitality and business destination.
