Thailand proposes flat 450-baht tourist fee as public hearing moves ahead for all foreign visitors

Thailand has proposed a flat 450-baht tourism entry fee for all foreign visitors, replacing separate air and land/sea rates. Thailand’s Government Public Relations Department said the Tourism and Sports Ministry will hold a public hearing on the proposal. The fee would apply regardless of whether travellers arrive by air, land or sea. Air arrivals would face collection from 180 days after publication in the Royal Gazette, while land and sea collection would follow 360 days later. Payment options under consideration include airline tickets, an official website, mobile app and entry-point kiosks. The proposal remains subject to the formal approval process.
