Speaking during the 7th edition of TravTalk ThinkTank,Praveen Iyer, Former Founder & CCO, Akasa Air, said that the Indian travel trade has become considerably more mature since the pandemic. He added that travel agents now better understand the importance of sustainable airline pricing and no longer view low fares as universally positive. He noted that many agencies had suffered losses following airline failures, making them more appreciative of financially healthy carriers. Iyer also predicted that travel advisors would increasingly shift from commission-based earnings towards customer-paid service fees as airline distribution models continue to evolve.
