Yatra Online Limited, India’s largest corporate travel services provider and one of the country’s leading online travel companies, has unveiled a milestone film marking 20 years of innovation, growth and transformation. The film traces the company’s journey alongside the broader evolution of India’s travel landscape, from the early days of online booking to today’s AI-driven travel experiences.
Since its founding in 2006, Yatra has introduced a series of technology-led innovations tailored to Indian travellers, including SMS-based bookings in 2007, cash-on-delivery payment options in 2010, and the low-bandwidth “Yatra Mini” application in 2016. More recently, in 2024, the company built what it describes as India’s largest corporate travel platform, introduced voice search capabilities, and launched its Gen-AI assistant, RECAP.
According to Yatra’s Annual Report for FY 2024-25, the platform recorded 106 million visits, a 97.3% booking success rate, and a network of approximately 80,000 hotels and homestays spanning nearly 1,497 Indian cities. The report also noted that 59% of Yatra’s business in FY 2024-25 came from repeat customers, while 81% of its traffic was direct or organic—figures the company says reflect the brand equity it has built over two decades.
The anniversary film brings these milestones together through a visual narrative centred on the people, partnerships and purpose behind Yatra’s journey over the years.
Commenting on the occasion, Yatra Co-founder and Chairman Dhruv Shringi said the company was founded on the belief that technology could transform how India travels, adding that Yatra has grown alongside a new generation of Indian travellers by continuously adapting and earning their trust. He described the film as a celebration of both the company’s past and the foundation built for its future.
Yatra CEO Siddhartha Gupta echoed similar sentiments, calling the milestone an opportunity to celebrate the journey and the people who built it, while also framing it as the beginning of a new chapter aimed at creating greater opportunities for customers, employees and partners. As Yatra enters its third decade, the company said it remains focused on technology-led innovation and strengthening its position within India’s evolving travel industry.
