Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India and Chairman, Air India Express, said after the privatisation of Air India, Air India Express is growing exponentially. “We used to be a 25 aircraft airline till about four years ago. Today we are 100 plus aircraft. We have grown four times in the last four years. And we have an order of almost 600 aircraft, most of which will be coming to Air India Express,” said Nipur, adding, “We will be doubling our flight in five years. So, naturally our home market UAE will get a big share of this. We will not only connect south India to UAE but also other parts of India. The three flights that we have launched does that. Lucknow will connect north India to UAE, Indore connect central India to UAE, Navi Mumbai connects west India to UAE, and Guwahati will connect east India to UAE.”
