CzechTourism continued its year-round engagement with the Indian travel trade by hosting dedicated workshops in Hyderabad and Surat. The sessions formed part of the tourism board’s efforts to build stronger relationships across established cities as well as fast-growing outbound travel markets in India.
The workshops followed CzechTourism’s participation at the MICE India & Luxury Travel Congress (MILT) 2026 in Goa, which brought together corporate travel decision-makers, MICE buyers and luxury travel specialists from across India. Building on the conversations initiated at the congress, the sessions in Hyderabad and Surat enabled CzechTourism to engage more closely with travel professionals and explore opportunities across leisure, premium travel, incentives and business events.
More than 30 travel trade partners attended the workshop. The sessions showcased Czechia as a destination that offers much more beyond Prague, from historic towns, castles and wellness retreats to gastronomy, wine regions, nature and unique venues for meetings and incentive programmes. Prague’s strong position within the global MICE segment was also highlighted, along with Brno’s growing appeal for business events and incentive groups looking for experiences beyond the more familiar European cities.
CzechTourism was also joined by representatives from The Julius Prague, who introduced the hotel’s accommodation and hospitality offerings. This gave the participating travel partners a better understanding of the premium stay options available in Prague and how they could be included within leisure, luxury and group itineraries.
Both Hyderabad and Surat are important markets for CzechTourism, although their travel patterns are distinct. Hyderabad has a strong base of affluent families, young professionals and corporate travellers looking for premium holidays and multi-city European itineraries. Surat, backed by its entrepreneurial and business community, shows growing potential for family holidays, celebrations, incentive travel and multi-generational trips
Barbara Andelova – Head of Marketing – Middle East and India, CzechTourism, said: “Hyderabad and Surat are new markets for us from a travel trade engagement perspective, and these workshops have given us a valuable opportunity to understand them more closely. India is an incredibly diverse outbound market, and the needs of travellers can vary considerably across metros and affluent, fast-growing regional cities. Every market brings a different set of expectations, interests and travel patterns. By engaging directly with local partners, we are able to understand these nuances better and help them present Czechia in a way that is more relevant to their clients.”
Through such focused trade engagements, CzechTourism aims to improve destination knowledge and encourage the development of itineraries that combine Prague with regions such as South Moravia, Karlovy Vary, South Bohemia and other lesser-explored parts of Czechia.
