Indian travel advisors and tour operators are urging clients to prepare more thoroughly for Thailand trips after the Embassy of India in Bangkok issued a fresh advisory following changes in Thailand’s entry regulations. Under the revised norms, Indian travellers may be asked to produce proof of funds of at least THB 20,000 (around ₹58,000), along with confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings, a valid passport, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), and appropriate visa documents at immigration. The advisory comes after Thailand ended its visa-free entry arrangement for Indian passport holders, making pre-travel documentation critical to avoid delays or denial of entry.
For the travel trade, the move places greater responsibility on tour operators and travel consultants to ensure travellers meet all compliance requirements before departure. Industry stakeholders believe proactive documentation checks and customer awareness will be essential to minimise disruptions during the upcoming outbound travel season.
