Turkish Airlines has signed an agreement with HAVELSAN for the supply of 12 new flight simulators, including eight Full Flight Simulators (FFS) and four Flight Training Devices (FTD), as part of its fleet expansion strategy targeting over 800 aircraft by 2033.
The simulators will support the airline’s expanding pilot training infrastructure, including new simulator hangars scheduled to begin operations in 2027 and a new Flight Training Center expected to open in 2028.
Designed and manufactured entirely in Türkiye, the simulators will strengthen domestic aviation technology capabilities while enhancing advanced pilot training through locally developed systems.
Turkish Airlines said its Flight Training Center is expected to become one of Europe’s largest across three campuses by 2033, serving both the airline’s own training requirements and those of other carriers.
HAVELSAN described the agreement as a milestone, marking its entry into the wide-body flight simulation segment and reinforcing its partnership with the national carrier.
The airline already operates seven HAVELSAN-built simulators certified to EASA Level D standards and said the new order will further enhance its internationally compliant pilot training capabilities.
